Sanctuary: Bronx is a sacred experiment in healing, brotherhood, and transformation. Rooted in the Bronx and built by and for young men of color, it offers a space to learn, create, and grow through the disciplines of real estate development, philosophy, capoeira, and art.

More than a program, it’s a place where hands build not just structures—but futures. Where the body is not criminalized, but honored. Where the mind is sharpened, the heart is softened, and the spirit is fed.

Each cohort gathers inside a space we construct ourselves—framed with wood, layered in stucco, and filled with symbols from our shared histories. It’s not just about what we teach. It’s how we live it.

Polaris & Crux was pleased to celebrate Eyes on Brazil, a three-day event at Center Ithaca on The Commons highlighting Afro- and Indigenous Brazilian history and culture. Over three days, Eyes on Brazil aims to introduce Brazil to Ithaca through interactive workshops, music, food, and dance, leaving all who attend experiences to cherish.

Inspired by the native Taino and constrained by FEMA’s construction regulations, we envisioned the regeneration of the Antigua Central Azucarera Canóvanas into a multifunctional hospitality project featuring nomadic tiny-home hotel rooms, microplots for small farming, an open-air community market, culturally and thematically-based activities, and a sculpture garden.

This project leave as light a footprint on the landscape as possible, following the ways of nature. And also provides space for local commercial and agricultural activity.

In this series, Alvieno James De Matos Oliani Stinson explores complex subjects in the wake of his father’s death, such as the afterlife, friendship, love, melancholia, drug abuse, guilt, and grief.

Base materials and artistic direction were gathered from and inspired by his travels to Egypt, Kuwait, and Italy.

Library Place is a locally and family-owned 55+ community in downtown Ithaca developed by Travis Hyde Properties. Library Place blends Travis Hyde Properties’ expertise in property development with Bridges Cornell Heights innovative approach to senior living.

The property has sixty-six residential units with luxury finishes such as crown molding, quartz countertops, large format tiling in bathrooms, and stainless steel appliances. The property also boasts a large central courtyard, community room, restaurant, home healthcare office, spa with beauty salon, and warming pool.

Seed applies the concept of regenerative pollination to the master plan of redeveloping an old military base and restoring a wetland in North Charleston, SC. This climate-resilient mixed-income neighborhood features over 600 residential units, of which 30% are affordable.

The neighborhood is rooted in principles of democratic thought and public participation. Adults can program spaces like the public amphitheater, children can make calculated decisions in the neighborhood's risk playgrounds, and residents of all ages can participate in the Pollination Project. This seed distribution program allows for the spread of native flowers throughout the neighborhood.

The neighborhood also features units for small and medium-scale commercial retail, restaurants, a grocery store, bird observatory, and more.

Provider is the distillation of Alvieno James De Matos Oliani Stinson’s experiences traveling through the South Pacific. His work addresses the trade of goods, the development and proliferation of cultures over time, concepts of modernity and primitivism, and spirituality.

Artworks double as burlap sacks carrying items indicative of the material culture of the region, such as coconut, betelnuts, chicken bones, and sugar.
